Brendan Read - Director
Brendan is the founder and developer of Affinity Electrical Technologies. Brendan has over 16 years industry experience which has given him extensive industry knowledge and the ability to produce creative solutions to electrical issues. Brendan has worked across a variety of contracts in the past and has provided services to clients for over 15 years. Brendan has also been leader in the recycling of lamps in the ACT for over 8 years.
Kelvin Aumont - Business Manager/CFO
Kelvin joined Affinity in March 2013 following 11 years in senior financial and general management roles at UGL Services/DTZ. These roles have given Kelvin extensive experience within the Property Services and Facility Management Industry. Kelvin is also a Certified Practising Accountant committed to maintaining strong financial processes and controls. Kelvin brings a customer focused attitude to Affinity which was developed while delivering outsourced services to UGL Services’ clients including Commonwealth Government Departments and Corporate clients.
Dean Crapp - Operations Manager
Dean started his electrical apprenticeship back with O’Donnell Griffin in 1982 which he completed 4 years later. During Deans employment there he worked his way up the ladder from a Tradesman, to Leading Hand then Foreperson on to Project Supervisor and finally to the position of Project Manager. Dean has been a people manager/supervisor for the past 30 years and uses his extensive knowledge and experience to generate quality outcomes both on site and administratively. Dean has a keen focus on safety and is part of the Affinity Electrical Work health safety and Quality committee.
He uses his extensive experience from pricing a project and following through to project delivery. Dean now shows his expertise in the pricing of our Civil projects from major traffic light and street lighting installs and also managing the delivery of these projects through our construction division.
Dan Parker - Project Manager Construction & Installation
Dan has been in the electrical industry for 10 years, during which time he has been involved in many different areas of the trade. Since completing his apprenticeship with Electro Group in 2010, Dan has proven himself and has an excellent knowledge of domestic installations and maintenance, as well as major construction works. Dan has worked on projects such as John Gorton Drive (Stages 1D & 2A) and Casey 4 Sub-Division. Both of these projects featured large scale street lighting and several traffic light works, as well as underpass and bridge lighting. Dan was also heavily involved in the Energy Efficient Lighting Upgrade (TAMS), which was conducted in most suburbs of Canberra at the start of 2013. Further, Dan worked on-site in a Leading Hand position, which involved both working on the tools and supervising numerous other staff, as well as updating progress spreadsheets and liaising directly with the client. Dan has been promoted to Installations Project Manager and is currently overseeing projects like Armoured cable 2016/17 in Griffith and an Energy Efficient Lighting upgrade at Drakeford Drive.
Elso Pieterse - HR, QA & Office Manager
Elso joined Affinity in April 2013 in the AET accounting team. She commenced her career in accounting in 2007 where she played a vital role in day to day accounting of a national IT reseller in South Africa. Since being offered the position of HR/QA & Office Manager in Aug 2016, she has enthusiastically taken to the role with the added benefit of having knowledge of all AET systems as well as accounting procedures and processes. She is also certified in Risk Management and Quality Audit and done courses in understanding Environmental, Workplace Health & Safety and Management Systems.
Michael Dentrinos - Estimator & Sales Manager
Michael joined Affinity in 2017 as our new Sales Manager concentrating on business development. He completed his apprenticeship with Transgrid where he thereafter, joined Country Energy to advance his career as a Network Operator. He got further experience in Perth working with HV systems and control as a Network Manager and developed their Network Management System in-house. Whilst in WA Michael also ran his own electrical contracting company which services the local Willetton area with domestic & commercial installation and repairs. Michael has more than 10 years’ experience in electrical installations and sales and brings across management knowledge to Affinity.
Mark Ruffy - Finance Manager
Mark joined Affinity in April 2016 following 8 years working in mid tier and big 4 accounting firms. Mark commenced his career working for WalterTurnbull in 2008, on completion of his degree. He then worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) following the merger in 2010 and then spent 3 years at SPA Accounting.
Mark brings considerable experience and knowledge having acted as assistant financial controller for a large construction company. He has significant experience with preparation of management accounts, payroll management and taxation compliance including, Income Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Goods and Services Tax (GST) and payroll tax.
