2012 DHCS MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL ACT
POWER AND ELECTRICAL SETUP
2012 saw Affinity Electrical Technologies complete its third National Multicultural Festival site temp power and electrical setup. For the second year this included the Indigenous Showcase which was setup in Civic Square and for the first time it saw AET as the contractor solely in charge of all Electrical supply which included the supply of generators, distribution boards major cabling for the entire footprint.
The 2012 Multicultural festival saw record numbers of the public attending and participating in the three-day event in Civic. Over 240,000 people attended over the three days with record numbers of stalls serving up a variety of local and international foods, beverages and information. Over a larger festival footprint than any year prior the logistics of powering up the stalls a challenge that AET enjoyed and accomplished with minimal issue.
It was a necessary requirement that Affinity Electrical Technologies liaise with the festivals organizers, store holders, ACT Workcover, ACTPLA and other subcontractor’s delegates during the setup to provide electrical services to the stalls, stages and emergency services breakout areas in a manner that was secure, out of site and with the safety of the general public taken into account.
The festival setup time frame was reduced to 12 days in 2012 and with 376 stalls 8 stages and several emergency services breakout areas to setup within a very short time frame. Affinity was proud to be able to complete the works for the event in a manner that was recognized and applauded by the festival organizers.
We look forwarded to continuing our support this great event within Canberra and hope to continue working with festival organizers for many more years.
