KINGSTON INFRASTRUCTURE

Affinity Electrical were engaged by BMD to complete both the street lighting in and through the latest Kingston Infrastructure project. The street light installation included the supply and install of over 175 street lights, pedestrian crossing lights and architectural lighting in the pedestrian bridge and the harbour markers.

New street lighting was installed through the causeway area of Kingston close by the old Canberra morgue and the Kingston boat shed. With street lights leading up to the new Eyre street bridge and along the extension of Newcastle Street  and with several other roadways leading off these key infrastructure lane ways this area is now prim for residential work to commence very soon.

Architectural lighting was installed along the edge of the pedestrian pathway in the concrete parapet through the use of LED strip lighting and the 20 meter high glass harbour markers at either end of the bridge are also lit through up-lights positioned in the footings of the harbour markers.

Through the challenges of inherent ground condition problems and long periods of inclement weather AET were able to complete the project to the high standards expected by the end client the LDA.

This was another project where AET were able to show their ability to complete complex street lighting projects under tight time frames.
