NATIONAL ARBORETUM CANBERRA - WATERWISE COMMUNITY EDUCATION GARDEN

The Canberra Discovery Garden, also know as the Waterwise Community Education Garden is located next to the events Terrace at the National Arboretum.

This exciting garden explores Canberra’s unique climate, soils and geology and teaches visitors how to achieve a beautiful, sustainable and water efficient garden in any season.

The series of linked garden rooms, including a covered outdoor learning area facilitates community workshops, tours, talks and school groups. An interpretive trail allows visitors to engage in self-directed learning and discovery. The garden types and plant selections educate visitors on how to attain a healthy, water wise garden through sustainable gardening practices and planting for your climate.

AET were engaged by Urban Contractors to provide power to pumps, irrigation reticulation controls and architectural lighting in the new Garden rooms to help highlight the cheap and cost effective ways of creating a practical , easy to maintain and visually spectacular garden in which you can easily enjoy your time in all year round.
