In February 2021, Affinity Electrical Technologies (AET) was approached by the Yass Roos Football Club, to assist with pricing, design, and product information for the Joe O’Connor Oval in Yass. AET helped the club with a submission for a NSW Government grant, and in November 2021, the Yass Roos were notified that their application was successful.
The club’s brief was to install a 300 lux lighting system to enable their senior team to play matches on the oval. AET worked closely with the Yass Roos, navigating the Yass Valley Shire Council Development Application requirements and providing necessary information. AET also took on the building requirements for the project.
AET installed 24 Phillips BVP 528 light fittings on 30-meter towers, handled the civil works, and the footing installation was certified by Sellick Engineers. The project was completed in the summer of 2023, with the lighting ready in time for the round 1 clash against the Belconnen Magpies in the 2024 season.
