Wesley Tennis Club

On behalf of the Wesley Tennis Club, I am writing to express our thanks on the completion of the project to install competition-standard lighting for the Wesley tennis courts.

From the way Brendan sought to provide a solution to meet our needs and budget, through to the way Jessie and the team completed the installation, the project has been handled with pleasing professionalism.

For decades, having lights for the Wesley tennis courts was a fantasy, so far out of reach it was never seriously considered. With the introduction of Book a Court, its success enabled us to dare to dream. Being a church tennis club, we are ineligible for ACT government grants to assist with the cost, so earlier this year, we invited club members to make loans to the club with the hope of achieving the goal sooner rather than later. I was pleased with the way club members caught the vision, as did the church council who approved the project.

From raising the idea, to realisation of the dream has taken only a few months, undoubtedly much faster that the grant process would have taken if we were able to go down that path.

A large part of the success of the project is due to the professionalism demonstrated by Affinity Electrical Technologies and the team.
The design of the new lights provided by ELA, and the poles they are mounted on, are aesthetically pleasing, and provide even lighting across both courts. They are a huge improvement over the incandescent globes that we had on one court only, and even the LED globes we used as an interim solution. It’s like night and day.

We look forward to may years of being able to provide competition-standard lighting for court users.
Thank you,
