
Michael commenced his apprenticeship in January 2012 at North Parkes Mines. During this time, Michael worked as part of the fixed plant
maintenance team in both underground and ore processing areas, undertaking day-to-day electrical works. These include installation, maintenance and fault finding of fixed plant equipment such as SAG mills, ball mills, crushers, conveyors, pumps, and winders, these types involve, working on various types of instrumentation and control systems associated with this equipment, such as programmable logic controllers, density gauges, flow meters, pH sensors and level sensors. Michael also worked. in rotation with various onsite teams and undertaking works such as the electrical engineering, drafting and design teams. In 2017 Michael commenced work as an electrical fitter at commercial and mechanical switchboards in Queanbeyan. His role involved wiring, working with various electrical boards, including lighting and power control, distribution, and metering boards to engineered drawings and plans. In 2019, Michael recommenced his apprenticeship with Affinity Electrical Technologies and became a qualified electrician in 2021. He has since been a valued team member. Michael has a wide range of experience in the electrical field, including installations of light fittings, electrical accessories, and associated wiring systems and cabling as part of the ACT Street lighting project. This work also involved fault finding, maintenance and testing, and commissioning of associated streetlight circuits that are part of the ACT street lighting network.
